High-Attendance Students Rewarded
JANUARY 23 - Cascade Public Schools hosted a free popcorn social on Thursday, January 23, in the commons area to reward students with fewer than three absences during the first semester. The event was designed not only to celebrate these students' impressive achievements but also to encourage their peers to improve their attendance.
The idea for the event came after Principal Michael Wilson reviewed the semester's attendance records and discovered that Cascade students had above-average attendance across all grade levels. Impressively, 11 students achieved perfect attendance. Originally planned as an ice cream social, the event was adjusted to a popcorn social to accommodate the large number of students who met the attendance goal-a true "suffering from success" moment.
Principal Wilson greeted students with handshakes and fist bumps as they came into the commons area of the school to receive their reward, commending their initiative and encouraging them to "keep up the good work."
