White Jeep mangles street sign and causes property damage, police are investigating
JANUARY 21 - A bizarre and destructive driving incident has left Cascade residents bewildered. A street/stop sign was discovered uprooted and mangled in the parking lot near Atkinson Park and Cascade Public Pool, far from its original location in Crystal Lemanski's front yard at the intersection of First Street North and Second Avenue. The sign, apparently struck and dragged by a vehicle, was initially found blocking the road, with concerned neighbors moving it aside to prevent further hazards.
The incident occurred early morning Tuesday, January 21, with the damage starting several blocks from where the sign was found. Crystal Lemanski's yard was the first to be struck when the driver plowed across her front yard and into a neighbor's yard. "They hit my truck, and the sheriff's deputies found the license plate," Lemanski commented. "They even lost both of their mirrors in my yard." The driver continued on this chaotic path, leaving behind a trail of damage including Lemanski's truck, the aforementioned stop sign, and damage to neighboring properties before ending their journey near the pool.
