We want to take a moment to share some important changes that will take effect as we return from winter break.
Effective January 6th, our afterschool program will no longer be offered. This was not an easy decision, and we recognize that the program’s ending may create challenges for some families. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated afterschool staff—Ms. Jordan, Ms. Kaydence, Ms. Mert, and Mr. Thornton—who have worked tirelessly to provide this service and support for our students. Their commitment has been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate the care they have shown to our students and the school community.
With the end of this program, we must adjust our building supervision procedures. The majority of our staff contracts end at 4:30 PM, and any remaining staff have other responsibilities, such as coaching or offering individualized student support. To ensure student safety, all students must leave the building no later than 4:15 PM.
Key Changes to Note:
Students not participating in a supervised activity or practice must be picked up by 4:15 PM.
Students with afterschool practices scheduled later in the evening need to be picked up and should not remain in the building unsupervised. Students should arrive back at the building no more than 15 minutes before their scheduled activity.
For the first two weeks following winter break, we will make phone calls to families to arrange timely pick-ups as needed. After that period, we will establish a formal plan for student pick-up for those who may continue to need assistance.
We understand this transition may require adjustments for some families, and we appreciate your partnership as we prioritize student safety. If you have questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we work through these changes together.
