What Do You Call Someone Who's Happy on Mondays?
Retired!
Retirement is wonderful-it's doing nothing without worrying about getting caught at it.
After 63 years of dedication and leadership at Stockmens Bank and in the Cascade community, Murry Moore was honored with a Retirement Celebration at the Wedsworth Hall last Saturday evening. Despite the bone-chilling weather, the hall was packed with well-wishers from town, the surrounding area, and even from out of state. This legacy of friends is a testament to the impact Murry has had in Cascade. As John Lennon once said, "Count your age by friends, not years."
Mike Moore welcomed the guests and introduced Murry, who thanked everyone for coming. He was presented with a plaque from the city by Mayor Wes Seabolt-along with a pair of mittens. Murry spent the evening visiting with as many attendees as he could.
On Monday, I reached out to Murry to ask about his immediate post-retirement plans. Naturally, he was at work. At work? Yes! He explained that his official retirement date isn't until January. After that, he plans to tackle some unfinished projects, work on his taxes, and take a trip to Las Vegas.
Finally, Murry, congratulations on deciding that life is more important than work. What took you so long?
