Ulm News: Shoeboxes Packed with Love

The Ulm Pinochle Club met at Erin's house this month, with Erin and Valerie hosting. Thanks to an abundance of subs, we had the chance to mix things up and play with different people, which made for an exciting change. Thank goodness for our trusty list of substitutes! Nancy came out on top with an impressive high score of 4,060, while Loretta took the last-place spot. No matter the results, we always enjoy plenty of fun and laughter. We're eagerly looking forward to our December games, which will include a cookie exchange for those participating.

The Truth Trackers at Ulm Bible Church had a wonderful time assembling about 30 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Thanks to generous donations, we had a wide variety of items to include in the boxes. Each child filled out a form with information about themselves and added a drawing of their home, making each box extra special. We also watched a couple of videos that showed how the shoeboxes are transported around the world and the joy they bring to the children who receive them. In total, the church packed 48 shoeboxes this year-a fantastic effort! It's such a meaningful program, and the kids (and I) look forward to it every year.

Best of luck to all the hunters still working to fill their tags-stay warm! And to everyone, Gobble Till You Wobble!
