The last few weeks have brought great news to the Belt Valley. After a long wait, an old business is back up and running: there's bowling in Belt once more!
Little Belts Pizza Bowl has opened and is eager for the community’s support. The owners have worked hard to renovate the place, making it look fantastic—so come see the results! They’ve made numerous updates, from the menu to various other improvements to this landmark building.
The Belt Valley Lanes operated for decades and has always been a significant part of the community, so residents have quickly taken the opportunity to visit. The first few weeks have been busy, with everyone enjoying the new atmosphere.
Inside, the bowling alley looks quite different from how it used to. New arcade games provide fun for all ages, and there’s a brand-new pool table. The menu has also been revamped, featuring an assortment of pizzas, fried food, and new treats like soft-serve ice cream, Wilcoxson’s hard ice cream, and a variety of snacks such as candy and chips in the vending machines.
The new owners, John and Lisa Stokes, are both avid bowlers with years of league experience. John previously worked as a freight agent for a trucking company but has never run a bowling alley before.
When Stokes discovered the bowling alley was for sale, he thought it would be a fun and worthwhile venture for his family. He hopes to start bowling leagues, possibly in January, though he wants to ensure the lanes are in top condition before committing to a full season.
He has also spoken with Belt School Principal Mr. Paulson about reintroducing bowling into the P.E. program. Mr. Paulson has already brought a few students over to bowl and enjoy pizza. Pizza and bowling have long been a reward tradition for younger students, celebrating good behavior and academic achievements.
Little Belts Pizza Bowl will operate Thursdays from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Fridays from 4:00-9:00 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00-9:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00-7:00 p.m. They plan to extend their hours and expand the menu as business grows. They’re also considering adding more arcade games and, eventually, a few gambling machines.
Community opinion is unanimous: everyone wants to see this new venture succeed, as it adds a great entertainment option for the area. So be sure to check out Little Belts Pizza Bowl!
