Well election season is drawing to a close, I wish it were over and done with, but there are probably some things going on that relate to illegal voting, ballot harvesting and general corruption. I think this was very apparent to us in the 2020 election, when things “flipped” overnight. Think about it, who but those intent at winning at all costs in our federal and state elections would object to an ID to vote and verify you are you say you are? It is insane to ask us to show ID to fly, get into the Democratic National Convention, buy alcohol or tobacco, or get medical attention yet say it is “burdensome”, “racist”, or “Naziesque” to ask people to validate their identity when voting.
Then there are the electronic voting machines which are not as secure as a 5-year-olds tied-shoelaces. Those laces come apart, and those machines are subject to hacking and manipulation just like the search requests we make on Google, or the ads you see on Facebook. Our voting system needs to be simplified and go back to paper ballots and voting in person. Why does the government always fail our military personnel by not getting them ballots in a timely way? Could it be that most military folk lean conservative and patriotic and sign up to defend the Constitution, unlike half of our federal politicians, and many of the workforce of the bloated federal system?
I do know that no matter how messed up our system is, there is Someone who is definitely in control of the situation. I can forget that, and you can too. That Someone is the LORD God Almighty. He is the one who spoke and the universe, galaxies, and all life came into existence. He is the One with the plan of eternity, and He knows all the thoughts of men before they are formulated. He knows the words you and I will speak before they are on our lips. He has set the boundaries for the seas, laid the foundations of the world, and called each of the stars in the expanse of space by name.
God is in control, and as one of his children I must remember that and let that truth guide me through the days of life. It is hard, don’t you agree? But following God, letting Jesus guide me through His Word and by his Holy Spirit is what is best for me, and what I need. When I am sorrowful John chapter 14, has the medicine I need. When I feel in danger, or worried about my loved ones Psalm 91 is a good read. Isaiah 40 is a great reminder that God has my back when I am discouraged. If anger is plaguing you today go to Matthew 5: 9 and 22. Worried about growing old, then Psalm 71 might be what you need.
The Holy Bible is full of wisdom and jewels more precious than diamonds, you must however go mining (looking) for them. No matter who we have as our next President, or which party “controls” Congress, the disciple of Jesus Christ has the victory that lasts forever, they have a permanent place reserved in Heaven. They are not condemned, they are free, God’s love is their eternal possession. Read Romans 8 to see what I am talking about! As I often end my columns, if Jesus is not your Savior, then please call upon Him today and ask him to come into your life and forgive your sins and help you to become the person the Father wants you to be. Then you will always be on the winning side!
