The Witness of Creation

The inspiration of Glacier National Park's stunning grandeur provides a two-fold spiritual perspective. Some marvel at the beauty. Some marvel at the hands that created it.

Those who walk to their own rhythms will never know the cadence of creation. But the spirit of those who walk with God understand the perspective of King David, who, when arrested by the glory of our galaxy asked, "What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?"

The allure of Glacier has embraced me four times in the last 20 years, and every time I am moved to worship God, not the mountains. And from the mountains to the moon, to Mars and beyond, the Creation bespeaks the Creator.

Yet, the sermon preached by Earth and the heavens find willful rejection from the hearts of untold multitudes.

Born with the propensity to worship, cultures worldwide venerate flora and fauna, but not the Father. They unrighteously suppress the truth of God even though our Creator has revealed Himself to all. Since the first day until now, God's invisible attributes are clearly seen and understood through Creation.

Suppressing the truths of God does not negate them; rather they prove God true. Thus, the suppressors are without excuse regarding their foolish darkened hearts. Like Pontius Pilate, they knew the truth but washed their hands of it.

God is a missionary, and Jesus His emissary. The Father commissioned the Son to bring light to foolish darkened hearts. Untold multitudes have seen the Light. The undeserved love of God embraces them daily, hourly, moment by moment. They have peace and purpose in an upside down world.

This peace is not only for our comfort, it must be communicated to all others by those who no longer walk in darkness. The invisible attributes of God must be visible in God's children so others come to obedience in Christ so that many others live in the light as He is in the light.

This is the ultimacy of God's salvific plan. It's addition by multiplication. It's the Great Commission.
