Your trusted local news source since 1910
Wedsworth Memorial Library extends an enormous thank you to everyone who attended our recent book sale. Your generosity was overwhelming, and we deeply appreciate your support. It is so encouraging to see that the community values the Library and the services we strive to provide. Thank you for making us feel like an important part of the community.
We couldn’t have accomplished the sale without our wonderful volunteers. They were outstanding, dedicating countless hours to bring the sale to life before anyone even stepped through the doors. And to those who went out of their way to bring delicious soups, cookies, and even a salad or two—thank you! If you missed out on this delightful food, you missed a splendid feast.
We must also recognize the Friends of the Library. Their support is invaluable in maintaining our library services. Additionally, we extend our thanks to the Wedsworth Trust and the Town of Cascade for their financial and ongoing support, which allows us to keep our doors open. Without them, our future might be a tad uncertain.
So, you may wonder, what does this money provide? Whether you're checking out a book, DVD, or audiobook, we’re here for you. For those who use the library occasionally—maybe to quickly print a return label, when your printer is down, or when you need to fax something—we’re here for you. Our resources include a meeting room, 24/7 Wi-Fi, tax forms, archives for genealogy, and community programs.
We strive to serve you to the best of our abilities. In order to maintain and expand our services, we depend on the generosity of our patrons. Donations and book sale funds enable us to host special speakers or entertainers, support the Summer Reading Program, provide extra treats, and add the extras beyond our basic budget.
It was a joy to see everyone who browsed, enjoyed a bowl of soup, and stayed to visit and socialize. The book sale offers a unique opportunity to witness the community coming together.
A special thanks goes to the whirlwind of volunteers who helped tear down the event—efficient and FAST! You made it look so easy, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
And, of course, we thank those who came to shop. It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Without you, our efforts would have been in vain. Thank you also for your patience when our math was a bit “new math” at times!
It was heartwarming to see how much the community appreciates the library and our efforts to provide what you need. Once again, thank you all. We hope to see you next year on Columbus Day weekend.
