Various Openings On City Boards And Committees

GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City Commission is seeking applications for citizens to serve on the City County Board of Health, Ethics Committee, Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Board, and Park and Recreation Advisory Board. All applicants must be city residents and qualified electors to apply. Applications will be accepted through Friday, November 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

The City County Board of Health consists of seven members, which oversees the operation and management of the Health Department. The City Commission is responsible for appointing one interested citizen to serve a three-year term from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2027. The Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. For more information on the Board, contact CCHD Health Officer Abigail Hill at (406) 791-9261.

The Ethics Committee was established to ensure that all City officers and employees are performing their duties in compliance with the Code of Ethics provisions of Montana Code Annotated, Title 2, Chapter 2, and in the Official Code of the City of Great Falls (OCCGF) Title 2, Chapter 21. The Committee consists of three members and one Alternate member to serve in case of member unavailability. Members cannot be City employees, and, as reasonably possible, the members should have experience and/or training in Public Administration, Governmental Operation, Political Practices, or Legal Practice. Members serve three-year terms. The Committee meets on an as-needed basis. Currently, there is one committee member with a term set to expire on December 31, 2024. The Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Board consists of five to seven members and advises the Manager and City Commission on all matters related to the successful operation of the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts and public meeting rooms within the Civic Center. Members serve three-year terms. Currently, there are two board members with terms that are set to expire on December 31, 2024. Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at noon. The Park and Recreation Board consists of seven members, which advises the City Commission and the City Manager on all matters related to the Park and Recreation programs in the City. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Board members serve three-year terms. Currently, there are two board members with terms that are set to expire on December 31, 2024.
