Fund Raising Event for New Vo-Tech Scholarships in Cascade County on November 2, 2024

The Life Members of Cascade County will be holding a luncheon and holiday style show on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Meadow Lark Country Club in Great Falls to raise funds for new scholarships in Cascade County. The Holidaze Style Show will start at 11:30 am with a no-host champagne social and special entertainment. The lunch will be served at noon followed by a fashion show at 12:30.

“We are featuring casual and dressy holiday fashions from locally owned stores,” said Patricia Schlaeger, chairman of the District 5 Life Members in Great Falls and Cascade. “These local stores are the foundation of our communities and we are proud to give them the opportunity to show us selections from their holiday line of clothing.”

The style show will feature clothing from Kitson’s in Cascade and Blue Rose, Grae +Co, Daydream Boutique and Inge’s Fashions in Great Falls.

An heirloom quilt that is hand quilted will be raffled and there will be lots of door prizes donated by the participating clothing stores and local businesses. Additional funding will come from a 50/50 drawing. Special song and dance entertainment will be provided by a group from Malmstrom AFB to top off the afternoon.

Tickets are $25 per person and are available in Cascade from Donna Hayes at 406-788-5475 or at Kitson’s. In Great Falls the participating stores have tickets and tickets may be purchased by calling Patricia Schlaeger at 406-727-7633. Deadline to purchase the tickets is Saturday, October 26.

Life Members is an organization comprised of national garden club members who paid a one-time membership fee to help fund scholarships. The Montana state organization has been providing scholarships to a student in horticulture or related fields at Montana colleges since the 1950’s. Their $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a Montana sophomore in May. The local Life Members organization in Great Falls and Cascade felt there was a need to help graduating students who chose not to attend college, but were interested in a vocational trade as their career path. The Life Members of Cascade County Scholarship Committee was recently formed in September 2024 to help raise funds to provide vo-tech continuing education scholarships for high school seniors graduating in 2025. There are twelve high schools in Cascade County that will receive applications for the scholarships to be awarded. Applications will be available at each school’s guidance office after January 5, 2025.
