Ulm News: Celebrating October Birthdays and Community Spirit at the Pancake Supper

The fall season is upon us. The flies and box elder bugs are here... that's how we know. ;-)

The annual Ulm Volunteer Fire Dept. Pancake Supper happened this weekend. It was as yummy as always. It's just the best place to catch up with neighbors and friends and meet new people in the Ulm area. I love how the colony always pitches in and helps out too. The 4-H Club helped serve and clean, and the firefighters and their families were busy cooking up a storm. People got a sneak peek at the new addition, and by next year, we’ll be having the dinner in there.

Also, I’m throwing this out into the universe, but I think we need a competition for the dessert auction. We need more desserts next year, and we could add a people’s choice award for the best-looking dessert. Just a thought to get the creative juices flowing and encourage more auction desserts. It’s all for the good of our community, so why not have some extra fun?
