On Thursday, September 5th, the senior class went on a field trip to study “place.” We walked from the school to the Charlie Russell Honeymoon Cottage and over to the Cascade Museum. During the tour, guided by Kendra Lane and Channing Hartelius, we noted things that stood out to us and what made Cascade our “place.” We were challenged to make the familiar strange, reflecting on things like how it might seem odd that we know so many people around town or that we choose to take the alley to the store instead of the street. These subtle details create “place” and influence how we learn. A big thank you to everyone who helped organize this field trip!
