Pow Wow Wows

The Annual Little Shell Veteran's and Elder's Pow Wow was held this past Saturday and Sunday at the Little Shell Pow Wow Arbor, Mount Royal/Hill 57 in Great Falls. During the Grand Entry, the participants entered the dance arena dressed in full regalia, dancing along with dignitaries and elders. Representing unique heritrage, these dancers entered dressed in every color imaginable. In memory of their ancestors, they danced in harmony with the heartbeat of the drum.

At the head of the Grand Entry Procession were the flag bearers. In the lead was the Eagle Staff, carried by Gerald Gray, Chairman of the Little Shell Tribe. Following was the United States of America flag, the Little Shell Chippewa flag, and the Montana State flag. The flag bearers also carried the Metis Flag, Canadian flag and the MIA POW Flag to honor our Veterans.
