Myrle Allon Gollaher, born in Wenatchee, Washington on June 18, 1942, passed away from heart disease, on June 30, 2024, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 82.
Myrle went to school in Cascade, Montana graduating in 1960 and furthered his education at Northern Montana College and Montana State University. Myrle successfully competed in bull riding, bareback and steer wrestling and proudly served in the United States Navy before embarking on a lifelong career as a cattle rancher, establishing his own registered herd of Black Angus, which is still in operation today. He devoted 30 years of horse and livestock training and judging in 4-H. His contributions were recognized in 2022, when he was inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Myrle was passionate about the great outdoors and was actively involved in rodeo, horse training, bowling, golfing, and was a relentless cribbage player! Myrle's life is a testament to his vibrant spirit, love for life and dedication to his family and community, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen of Deer Park, WA; sons, Mike of Plevna, MT, and Ted Gollaher of Cascade, MT; granddaughter, Jade Gollaher of Floweree, MT; and sisters, Carol Spitzer of Spangle, WA, and Linda McDaniel of Lolo, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Willard Gollaher.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Myrle's life and legacy. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park, WA, is assisting the family during this time.
