Dearborn Garden Club News

The Dearborn Garden Club met on June 19 with the anticipated speaker, Eric Tillman, head of the Montana Ag Education program of OPI. Unfortunately, he had to cancel at the last hour, due to work commitments, but he had notebooks of information prepared for his program on Montana Pollinators.

Garden Club member, Carol Brady, stepped up and delivered the information he had and led a members discussion, with questions and answers and sharing of individual experiences with pollinators in their gardens.

The July gathering will be at the home of Branch and Sherry Brady in Woodland Estates of Great Falls. We will tour their gardens and then picnic on-site, followed by a short business meeting. This annual picnic is open to members' spouses and guests.

August 21 will find us touring Scott and Raina Blackman’s sunflower fields and pumpkin patch near Craig. Again, we will have a sack lunch on site to enjoy the surroundings.

The Montana State Garden Club Convention will be held in Malta June 27-30. Three members of our club will be attending and will report on the "happenings" at the September meeting.

The Dearborn Garden Club always welcomes guests and new members. Anyone interested in the above activities and would like to "check us out", please contact a member or call our membership chairman, Kitty Wojtala (406) 750-3008 for information.
