Over the past several months, I have been very blessed by God and from many of my friends. I even was blown away by Jerry Iamurri, the executive director of our mission’s organization, InFaith-The American Missionary Fellowship. Much of this “blessing” involves various outreaches and ministry work that my wife Lisa and I can do thanks to God’s empowerment.
First, I would like to thank God for the 20 kids that were faithful in coming to the after-school Bible clubs in Elliston and Wolf Creek. Those kids were able to learn about God’s wonderful work of creating the universe, and all life in it. They learned about the sin of Adam and Eve, and God’s provision for making things right and whole…yes, Jesus! They memorized many verses, sang songs and made wonderful crafts to take home and share with Mom and Dad.
I am so thankful for the people of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church and Elliston Church who invest their time and life into this most excellent work. It takes much prayer, patience and love to have a God-honoring Bible Club. I am also thankful for the use of the schools for Bible Club and Vacation Bible Schools. The Wolf Creek vacation Bible School is July 8-12, 9am-12:00 noon at the school for ages 5 to 12+. Remember to pray for your schoolteachers, staff, administration and kids over the summer. The devil is always on the prowl to disrupt things and we must be vigilant as well.
After one year of being pastor of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church I am very pleased with how things are going in that wonderful church family. We are growing in numbers with sometimes almost 30 in attendance. Our Sunday School is full of robust discussion and prayer. We usually average 20-24 and would love to have you join us. My family is loved and prayed for by the church and what an honor that is. We have all gained knowledge in God’s Word as we journey together through this thing called “life”. We are all growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord!
The director if InFaith, Jerry Iamurri worked with the Gianforte Family Foundation to secure a grant for the food bank at the church. We will now be able to expand to two days a month starting in July (the 2nd actually) being able to provide nutritional support to those in need. This reflects the people of the churches heart for helping our neighbors. Praise God for Jerry, and those who help during distribution times, and who shop and give resources so this valuable work may continue.
God also blessed us with increased healing in my wife Lisa’s shoulder from extensive surgery in February. It has been a terribly slow and painful recovery for her, but she has made tremendous improvement just in time for Bible Camp next week! Which is another praise! We have around 37 kids and teens coming to camp so far, and the staff to manage that number of campers. We are excited to see how God will work in the lives of the kids and staff as we teach them about our marvelous Savior Jesus!
I am also blessed as my recovery from hip replacement (December 2022) and shoulder surgery (May 2023) has gone well. I would not say I feel “good as new”, but I am much improved from the pain and limitations from years of abusing myself that I had prior to December of `22. God is so faithful to meet all my needs, and yours too, if we will follow Him. It really is not that hard. God has an instruction manual that is very easy to read, the Bible. He gives us the knowledge necessary to success. He will also enable you to follow Him through the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit of God who draws us to Christ, who aids us in understanding His Word, and who will impart faith in Christ to the one who admits his need and opens the door of his heart to God. If God is calling you, please answer! If you need help, or have questions please contact me! God Bless.
