The committee planning the upcoming Splash A Roo fundraiser met last Friday at Wedsworth Hall. The minutes to the meeting follow:

Splash A Roo Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 6:08 on 6/7/2024 by Teresa.

Katie Lynch, Jodie Campbell, Teresa Blaylock, Susie Que, Ray and Toni Castellanos were in attendance.

A lot was discussed at this planning meeting. We will create a main flyer that will be hung from Wolf Creek to Ulm by the end of June.

The Color Run is the first event of the day starting at 8am-930am. Christa Hardy is spearheading this event. We have color powder on hand, the registration is already being advertised, and volunteers will be recruited by Christa. Registration ends July 12th for this event.

The Farmers Market will kick off at 10am. We need to contact Wedsworth Hall to rent tables for this event. Each vendor will receive an 8x8 spot that will be taped off by Katie prior to their arrival. We do not have electricity for vendors. The vendor forms are posted in multiple groups and are due no later than July 19th.

The Car Show is new this year, being organized by Tersa. There will be no limit on how many cars can come, and we will block off the area prior to the arrival of the cars. We are still deciding where we want them to park to avoid disruption to driveways.

We are bringing back the pie eating contest! Susie will be baking 15 delicious pies and will be stored at the fridge at Wedsworth prior. Contestants can sign up during the carnival and will be given a small prize.

A fan favorite, Chicken Bingo is coming back! We are going to ask Amy for a chicken to decide the winner. Each square will be $10 and the winner does not need to be present to win. We will create the board and start selling tickets now around town to fill the board. We are aiming for 100 squares, winner will take home $500 dollars. There will be a perimeter around the area so no one can harm the chicken.

Food trucks will be set up around the dirt loop on the north end of the park. Katie is posting in facebook groups to stir some interest. We are hoping to supply some garbage cans to eliminate excess trash.

The Chili Cook Off is always fun! This will happen at the gazebo in the main park starting at 530, and we will have prizes for the top 3 win and it is $5 to enter. Winner will be announced at 715. A generator will be supplied to keep the chili warm.

We are not having a live auction this year, but are having a silent auction that will start at noon. So far we have roughly 27 items and are still collecting more. Final call will be 7pm. Renae and Susie will be in charge of this, and thank you letters are being sent out for everyone who donates items.

There will be a sign up portal for volunteers once we have finalized all the carnival games, Katie will post this once it is ready.

We are introducing a corn hole tournament Friday at 5pm. Katie and Levi are working on getting this ready. It is $10 a person, 2 person teams. The teams will be random. Levi is going to ask some friends for their boards. We will use an app called Scoreholio to monitor the games. Katie is getting the flyer up to publish.

The kids loved the carnival so of course this will be returning! We will set up the night before and the morning off. We will need a few volunteers to help with this. A (3 and under) area will be set up, as well as multiple games such as bowling, plunko, fish bowl, toilet paper bowl etc. We are going to put a fresh coat of paint on the ticket booth and will need someone to help run this during the carnival between 12-3pm. Wristbands will be $25 and will include the waterslide, games and swimming at the pool all day. We are not selling individual tickets this year. Hopefully we can get some donations to put towards wristbands for kids who can not afford to enjoy the day. Katie reached out to a face painter however she is booked, hopefully we can have someone come paint faces, Christa is hoping some kids from art class can help. The dunk tank will not be part of the wristband, this will be on its own and we will have sign ups for different time slots to get dunked by the community.

Gunny Sack Races and Tug of War will be happening in the main park area after the carnival, and the winner of each will be awarded prizes. You can sign up for this during the carnival at the ticket booth.

To end the evening, the Driftwood Bar will have an area selling beverages will the band Jared Hanson and Sons of 406 will provide live music. They will begin playing at 7pm.

The meeting was adjourned at 730pm.
