With a total of 40 student athletes, Badger Track and Field is off to a strong start. Personal Records are the focus as we try to improve individual marks throughout the season. This season also promises some school and state records, as standouts are working towards some big, yet attainable goals before the end of the season. So far the Badgers have attended three meets: Frenchtown, Fergus Invite and Choteau Acantha.
On the Boys side, senior Caiden Sekuterski qualified for state first meet of the year with 45'2 in the Triple Jump, 22'3 in the Long Jump, and 11.43 in the 100, winning both the Long and Triple at all three meets. In addition to Sekuterski's first place in those events, Cascade also placed Brant Ligameri 3rd (19'3.25) and Cody Park 6th (18'4.75) in the Long Jump, and Freshman Kameron Kakalecik 3rd (37'6.5), Josh Creveling 5th (36'10) in the triple jump. Other placers include Sophomore Brant Ligameri in the High Jump who took 3rd in Frenchtown, 2nd at Fergus, and 1st at Choteau while qualifying for state with a jump of 6'0. Fellow High Jumping Sophomore Rowan Konesky improved his personal best by 4 inches in Choteau placing 6th with 5'8. Sophomore Peyton Hauk placed 6th in the 400 with his time of 56.7 in Frenchtown and 3rd in Choteau with 56.38. The Boys 4x100 and 4x400 relays both took 6th in Choteau, and the boys team finished up 2nd as a whole in Choteau.
The girls team is small, but mighty! In Choteau, team leader Braedyn Johnson won the Long Jump with 32', placed 4th in the 100 and 200, and 6th in the High Jump, scoring a total of 21.5 team points. She also placed 6th in the High Jump in Fergus
