Lady Badgers Weekend Wrap-Up

The Badgers ended a two-game homestand with a 1-1 record. In the first game it was a matchup between the #1 seed in 10C (Cascade) and the number #1 seed in 9C(Big Sandy) It was a close game the whole way. The Badgers were within 4 with a couple of minutes to go but ended up losing 55-43. A hustling Badger team got 23 offensive rebounds and outrebounded a much taller Big Sandy team 43-33. Mackenzie Hauk led the team with 11 offensive rebounds. As a team, the Badgers also had 13 assists and 10 steals. Below are the individual stats for the Big Sandy game.

On Saturday the Sunburst Refiners came to Cascade. The Badgers shot 42% from the field and came away with 50-41 victory. The Badgers were led by Aubrey Hamlett who shot and amazing 13-19 from the field for 26 points. Sophia Mortag had 10 points and Ashlyn Korst had 8 points. The team had 16 assists led by Kenzie Hauk with 8. The Badgers led the whole game. The scrappy Refiners team cut it to two points halfway through the fourth quarter. However, the Badgers used solid defense and timely shooting to end with the victory. Super proud of these girls. They work and play together as a team. The next home game is next Friday vs the #2 seed in 10C the Simms Tigers. Please come and cheer on these girls. The JV game is at 3:00 and the Varsity is at 6:00.
