The Great Falls Electric professional basketball team, new members of The Basketball League (TBL), are looking for prospective families or individuals to host team players coming to Great Falls for the inaugural 2023-24 The Basketball League season.
The Electric recruit talented basketball players that have great potential to play professionally in the United States and internationally. The players sharpen their skills in hopes of landing on a National Basketball Association (NBA) team or NBA G League (developmental league). In order to play here in Great Falls, the players need families willing to share their homes and become “a home away from home” as they pursue their basketball dreams. The billet family (host) experience is immeasurable.
The players, who are recruited by the coaching staff led by head coach Johnny Clark, come from all over the United States and the world will stay with the host family from February until the season concludes in May or June 2024. Players DO NOT pay rent as they become “one of the family.”
“What a great experience to have a professional basketball player stay in your home for the season and become one of the family,” said Great Falls Electric Team Owner and General Manager, Jim Keough. “You never know you could have the next Pedro Martinez (former Major League Baseball pitcher who played with the Great Falls Dodgers in 1990) live with you just asked the Halfner family, it happened to them with Pedro.”
The local families provide room and board for the player(s) with each player having their own bedroom and meals and snacks available for them to prepare for or for the hosts to prepare for the player. The Great Falls Electric and the TBL have specific team guidelines and policies players must abide by to be with our organization. When you accept to be a billet family, a copy of these guidelines and policies will be sent to you.
Our host families must uphold and enforce these team rules and will need to be communicated to the player(s) when he/they arrive.
Some of the benefits to become a host family include the following:
- Each host family is paid a monthly stipend $300.00 per player) to house a player(s) in their home.
- Two Season Passes to attend the home games for the Great Falls Electric
- Host families and players develop a special bond for each player and remain close after the player exits the Great Falls Electric organization. We try to make sure the experience is rewarding for both the player(s) and the host families.
Billeting is a vital part of the overall success of the team.
If you have any additional questions or would like to host a player(s), please contact our Team Owner and General Manager, Jim Keough at (406) 868-6366 or email him at jimkeough@gmail.com.
