Good day fellow Ulmites. How is everyone surviving? We survived the negative 40 real temps, we survived all the sickness that was going around (and still is) we survived the crazy weather that stranded some in Lincoln and Missoula. Now we are loving this warmer weather, but we still have people struggling with winter animal babies. They come in the worst weather so this is a nice reprieve for a while. I hope everyone is well and getting out in the sunshine when we have it to soak in all the vitamin D we can in a short period of time. Winter certainly better not be over. Find your happiness and get outside and ski, or sled, or ice fish or just walk or something to keep from getting S.A.D. It’s real and I understand it personally and know what I need to do. Heck, buy the SAD lights and stay in, but keep yourself healthy and happy in this season and check in on your friends and neighbors.
The Ulm Pinochle Club certainly knows how to be happy and have fun even in the winter. We played at Desi’s house and Liz, fellow pinochle player, teamed up to be super hosts. Val had a double pinochle but Severin was the overall winner of high score. That was a crazy comeback because I think she was low the month before and I don’t think she liked it. LOLOL This time Amy had low score although non of the scores were really that low, which means we all had a great time. This next round will be at Shauna’s house. Not a lot to report on. Everyone is busy with sports it seems. We are either playing them, watching the kids play or watching it on TV. Football seems to be on every night at our house. What will we so after the Super Bowl? The 4-H steer project kids had their weigh in for the beef rate of gain contest on Sunday afternoon and it was a gorgeous day for it. Our friend Deb Hanson is keeping us updated on her 3 month cruise from San Diego around Australia and back. She has visited the Samoas and a few other islands including Hawaii so far. She had a couple days of bad seas, but was doing great though it. When I grow up I want to be her. Please send me your vacation fun or your family news or even your birthday days.
