Students in need of extra help with their homework can rely on the dedicated support of the school’s teachers. Mrs. Vogt, a seasoned educator with years of experience teaching middle school science and 8th grade English Language Arts, spearheads the homework help program. In addition to Mrs. Vogt, other teachers generously lend their time and expertise by opening their classrooms to students seeking assistance. The goal is for students to feel confident and supported in their academic work.
The afterschool program is designed to provide middle school students in grades 6th through 8th with additional academic support and assistance. Each teacher dedicates a day to open up their classroom to any student who needs help with anything they are learning. This program offers opportunities for students to receive one-on-one guidance from their teachers, which can help improve their understanding of challenging subjects and boost their performance.
Moreover, the program also offers a safe and conducive environment for students who cannot go home right away due to their parents’ work schedules or lack of transportation. These students can utilize the classrooms to work on their homework and other assignments while they wait for their ride home. This thoughtful provision ensures that all students have equal opportunities to succeed and receive the support they need to excel academically.
Every day of the week, there is a designated classroom that is open for students who need extra help or assistance. On Mondays, students are allowed to go to Mr. Koontz’s room. Tuesdays are reserved for Mrs. Vogt’s room, while Wednesdays are for Mrs. Metrione’s room. Finally, on Thursdays, Mrs. Stinson’s room is open for students. In case students need help with something in a different classroom, they are also free to go to other classrooms with permission. Most of the teachers in the middle school are around beyond 4;00 anyway to provide specific help.
The students can choose to stay on their own and work on what they want. Or they may be required by their parents or teachers to work on something more specific. This is a benefit to the students because it allows them extra time and extra support to catch up on homework.
The educators and administrators of the school generously provide an assortment of snacks to their students. These snacks include the likes of delicious goldfish and mouth-watering pop-tarts that can satisfy the cravings of any student.
