Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Cascadian Christmas Day
That's the dryland greeting that we send to you
From the land where pine trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be maybe a little green but mostly brown and bright
The sun to shine by day, and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Cascade’s way to say Merry Christmas to you!
In 1949, Mr. R. Alex Anderson was asked why there wasn’t any Hawaiian Christmas Songs? So, he answered within a few days by writing the song Mele Kalikimaka. In 1950, Bing Crosby surprised his golfing buddy, Anderson, with a recording of his soon to be classic Christmas song and the rest is history!

Established in 1984, the CEF functions to distribute scholarships to deserving Cascade High School seniors every year, who choose to pursue higher education. The board currently has one fundraiser and all the proceeds raised are put toward those scholarships. Each winter the CEF hosts a raffle for one half of locally raised beef (cut and wrapped) that is generously donated by the Dana Ranch Company! Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. You can purchase tickets locally at the Angus and the Driftwood and in Great Falls at The Stein Haus. Call one of the phone numbers or mail checks to the contact below and your tickets will be mailed or delivered to you. Board members will be selling raffle tickets at home basketball games. The winning ticket will be drawn on February 10, 2024, during halftime of the last basketball game. You need not be present to win.
