Friday The Lady Badgers went to Big Sandy to play a tough Pioneers team. The Badgers fought hard but lost 58-34. Badgers held their own in the first half down by 10. Defensively Mackenzie Hauk did a good job against their best player. She held her to only 8 points in the first half. The Badgers held their own on the boards having the advantage 31-30. However, turnovers let Big Sandy go on a run in the second half. The Badgers did force Big Sandy into 28 turnovers. Aubrey Hamlett did shoot 4-4 from the field against a tough defensive team. Allie Park did have 5 rebounds in only 8 minutes in her first varsity game.
With a quick turnaround the Badgers headed to Sunburst Saturday morning. Mackenzie Hauk started the Badgers off with 12 first quarter points. During the second quarter, the Badgers went cold and the Refiners made some outside shots. The Badgers found themselves down 28-23. The Lady Badgers did come out of half with great defensive intensity . Lead by Braedyn Johnson, the Badgers held Sunburst to 1 point in the third quarter. With their hustle the Badgers took a 31-29 lead to end the third. Everyone maintained their defensive pressure and the Badgers ended up winning 42-34 to complete the tough road game. The scoring was as follows. Kenzie Hauk-19, Sophia Mortag-11, Ashlyn Korst-8, Braedyn Johnson-2, Aubrey Hamlett-2.
