National Honor Society Induction

The National Honor Society Chapter of Cascade Public Schools held its Induction Ceremony on Wednesday evening at the Board Room. Present for the Ceremony were parents, Superintendent Levi Collins, and Principal Michael Wilson. Audrey Rumney welcomed the guests to the ceremony, followed by the Candle Lightings by the chapter officers, each candle representing the required standards of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

The new inductees were then led in the National Honor Society's Pledge: " I pledge to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; and will maintain and encourage the high standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character."

This year's inductees were Nicholas Deshayes, Kylee Finn, Ian McKamey, Jack Snyder, Joshua Creveling, Aubrey Hamlett, Peyton Hauk, Trent Leardini, Asher Nelson, and Novah Smith.

Membership to the National Honor Society is open to those students in grades 10th-12th who meet the required standards in the four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students are selected for membership by majority vote of a Faculty Council, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the faculty of our school each year. The chapter adviser, Ms. Weeda, is appointed by the principal and facilitates all selection procedures and chapter activities during the year.

The Ceremony concluded with congratulatory remarks by Principal Michael Wilson, followed by refreshments.

CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE CASCADE COURIER!!!
