Pam Marquis was sworn in Friday morning at Town Hall, being appointed to replace Roger Wright for the position of Ward 1 Councilor. In her Application for Appointment, Mrs. Marquis wrote about her interest in local government:
"I have always had an interest in government at all levels since I was in high school. I would have gotten involved much earlier, but I owned a childcare business and didn't feel I had the time to give. Since retiring, I now have the time and energy to invest in our local government and community.
"I love our community and want what is best for all people in Cascade. I was born and raised in Cascade and, when I married, we continued to live here and raise our family. My roots are deep and I am very passionate and protective of our town. Since my children were young, I have been involved in many areas: the school, Splash-A-Roo Fundraising for our local pool (which I co-chaired for 10-plus years), baseball for the local children, supporting our local library and teaching story hour, my church, and running a successful childcare business for 44 years. I currently am a member of the planning committee. I am well-rounded and fair, and very interested in offering my expertise as a member of the town council."
Congratulations Pam Marquis, and thanks for stepping up to serve our community.
