The District Music Festival was a successful event this year!
The Cascade High School Band students travelled to Great Falls last Thursday and Friday to participate in the annual District Music Festival. The Thursday events were made up of bands and choirs from our district. Our band performed 2 numbers for adjudication and one for sight reading. The students played very well and earned an excellent rating for their prepared pieces and a superior rating for sight reading. The adjudicators were very pleased with their musicianship and were glad to hear them play.
Friday was the day for small ensembles and solo performances. Cascade had several entries on Friday and two of our soloists, Kylee Finn, flute and Zoe Mazaira, clarinet, earned a superior rating and are headed to the State Music Festival in Missoula on May 5-6. These two were accompanied on the piano by Pedro Diaz-Masa. They made wonderful music together! The rest of our groups earned an excellent rating including the Jazz Band! Cascade was the only small school to have a jazz band participate in the festival-the rest were the large Great Falls Schools.
Cascade has a lot to be proud of in our Music Department!
If you see our musicians, please congratulate them on a job well done!
