Levy Election Community Meetings at Cascade

Cascade Public Schools Superintendent, Levi Collins, and Business Manager/District Clerk, Karsen Floerchinger, held two public community meetings last week, one on Tuesday at the Cascade Senior/Community Center, and the other on Thursday at the School. The purpose for these meetings was to inform the public of the upcoming Building Reserve Levy Election. A power point presentation explained the need for a Chilled Water System Addition, upgrades to the boiler plant, to the LED lighting, and to the temperature control system, Test, Adjust and Balance, and cabinet heater replacement. They presented the budgetary cost summary for these improvements, as well as the financing sources, and the impact to the taxpayer. Finally, they presented a tentative projected timeline as to when these upgrades could begin. There was animated discussion during Tuesday night's meeting, with Norm Davis summing it up. He said that when he was on the board, the community always passed the school levy. "After all, it was for the students in the community," he said, " for our kids."
