Jeff Holter established the Holter Research Laboratory in Helena in 1948 and developed the Holter Heart Monitor through the 1950s. It is now used worldwide to detect cardiac problems. What is not widely appreciated is that the work could not have proceeded without the electronics expertise of Holter's co-inventor Bill Glasscock. Dr Liz Gundersen, retired Helena pediatrician, will share the research she conducted in the MTHS archives and photograph collections on the Holter Lab and both Holter and Glasscock while working on an ExplorationWorks Science Museum exhibit honoring both men.
Cosponsored by the Lewis and Clark Library, all presentations will be held from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the library's large meeting room at 120 S. Last Chance Gulch, Helena. Programs will also be recorded for later viewing on the MTHS YouTube channel.
