Power Pirates Walk the Plank Against the Cascade Badgers

The Power Pirates went on the road and set sail to Cascade to face off against the Cascade Badgers last Tuesday Night. Clearly there was a height advantage for the Badgers, but that didn't stop the Power Pirates, as they outscored Cascade in the first minutes of the quarter. The Pirates were playing small ball and moving the ball around well around the court as the game proceeded, while the Badgers caught up to finish the 1st, tied 13-13. As the second quarter continued, the Badgers attacked the post, making inside shots, while Power stuck to the midrange shots and a few outside 3's for a close first half to the tune of 24-18, with Cascade leading. Power quickly found itself in trouble as multiple timeouts were called due to the Badgers catching momentum and increasing their lead. Towards the end of the third quarter, there was an abundance of turnovers and steals as the Pirates tried to even the score, but an unfazed Badger team capitalized on those turnovers and ended the third quarter on top, 45-23. Defense played a key role in the 4th quarter as the Badgers allowed the Power Pirates only 7 points, shutting them out at the sound of the buzzer, 54-30.
