Wheels of Harmony, an Indigenous singing group with Intermountain Opera Bozeman, treated Cascade Public Schools last Wednesday with their presentation of opera, classical music and indigenous programming. The Cascade Schools Music Department presented its annual Music In Our Schools Month Concert and Turkey Dinner on Thursday (Leap Day), February 29th. On January 10th, the Cascade Leadership High School group and I attended the Great Falls Leadership High School "Education" day to examine the education system in Great Falls. The Cascade Government Class was able to have Former Governor Brian Schweitzer zoom call on 2/20/24. One of the class assignments is to write to Montana, U.S., or World government representatives and one of the senior students wrote to Mr. Schweitzer to ask him questions about while he was the governor. Unable to recruit a science teacher for the upcoming semester, Cascade Public Schools has partnered with the Montana Digital Academy (MTDA), Montana's public state virtual school, to provide teacher services and curriculum to assist with these classes for the semester. Fourth- and fifth-grade students from Cascade Elementary School enjoyed a fun day of skiing Friday with fresh snow at Showdown Ski Area, 67 miles southeast of Great Falls.
