It was a hectic Homecoming Week at Cascade and so much to cover for this aging reporter/photographer, but it was so much fun!! The school had dress up days all week. On Wednesday, I stalked some students going to pick up some lunch at the 468 store on "Wear a Letter Day" (Scrabble Wednesday). The Badger Football team welcomed Lone Peak to town Friday night for their homecoming matchup. They were prepared for a good Lone Peak team with passing tendencies and a stout defense. After being gridlocked at zero half way through the first quarter the Badgers running game led an offensive drive that ended in a 4-yard Badger touchdown run. The Cascade Badger Junior High Football Team continued their season at Homecoming last Friday against division foe, the Lone Peak Big Horns. The Badgers put forth a dominant effort and emerged with the victory 56-8. The win improved the Badgers record to 3-1 on the season while staying undefeated against division opponents. GREAT FALLS – A hunter shot and wounded a grizzly bear on Tuesday near Freezout Lake Wildlife Management Area near Fairfield. The surprise encounter happened on the morning of Sept. 12. The hunter was walking along a shelter belt hunting for upland birds on private land when he was charged by the bear, which based on evidence of the animal found at the scene is believed to be an adult male.
