  • McKameys Host Annual Great Falls Chamber Ag Tour

    Ray Castellanos|Sep 14, 2023

It was a beautiful Thursday morning with vistas that only Montana can provide! Approximately 100 people showed up to the Annual Great Falls Chamber Ag Tour, this year hosted by Merrill McKamey and the McKamey family at their McKamey West Ranch. Guests arrived in two busses as the event began at 10:00 am. The theme this year was "Follow the Wool", and featured ranchers sharing industry insight, as well as shearing demonstrations, working dog demonstrations, hands-on rug weaving, and education on...

    Coach Jeremy Butcher|Sep 14, 2023

Thursday, September 7th, the Badger Football team took to the grid iron for a matchup against the Powell County Wardens from Deer Lodge. After a first quarter Wardens score had them down 6-0, the Badgers asserted their dominance and scored 4 consecutive touchdowns, bringing the score to 28-6. The success largely accredited to a power running game and relying on a stout defensive front. Caiden Sekuterski led the Badgers with 144 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. He also had a 15 yard...

  • Cave Heroes

    Edward Martin|Sep 14, 2023

There have been, evidently, three times in human history when humanity was in danger of extinction. About 900,000 years ago the population was down to about 1,280 individuals and that number did not significantly increase for well over 100,000 years. We’ve known for a long time that hominids did not sweep across the globe in one steady progression. There were places where they existed for an extended period only to vanish and not reappear for many thousands of years. A violent volcanic e...

  • Backyarding on a Budget

    Debbi Maystar|Sep 14, 2023

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Fall is an opportune time to set up your backyard for year-round success. Work put into landscaping in the fall determines the quality of the space for all of your family's backyarding activities, from family football games at Thanksgiving and Easter egg hunts in the spring, to taking your office to the back patio and meditation in a backyard hammock. "Work in your yard, and it will work for you. That's always been our motto, but it's particularly important to follow this c...

  • Who Do You Say Jesus Is? – Part 2

    Dave Carroll|Sep 14, 2023

My last Musing ended with the following paragraph. “It is imperative that a person takes a real, honest and historically accurate look at the person of Jesus of Nazareth. What does the data tell us about him? Is there non-Christian material that one may look at? When did he live, what did he teach and how and when did he die are facts of history one must know to truly understand who this Son of Man really was. I hope over the next couple of months to delve into this subject. I hope you and I will learn from it. For now, my question to you i...

  • Can God Use Me?

    Norm Miller, Montana Christian College|Sep 14, 2023

Sometimes feelings of isolation and insignificance produce a synergy that squelches our outlook. And that can cause a spiritual introspection that evolves into unwarranted self-criticism leading to feelings of futility. Reading about the larger-than-life conquering victors, powerful preachers, and sacrificial Christ followers in the Bible, though encouraging, can cause Christians to think their Kingdom tasks are menial by comparison. “If I could only slay a giant. If I could only part the sea. If I could only raise the dead.” Don’t be tempt...

  • 22 Years

    Lee Vickers, Local Contributor|Sep 14, 2023

I am writing this on 9/11/2023. It has been 22 years since 9/11/2001. The scope of the personal impact has come into special focus for me. There were 8 children on those planes, the youngest was 2 years old; there were young adults who died, also. Thus, there still are grandparents who daily miss beloved grandchildren. More than 100 children were born after their fathers died on 9/11. They are young adults now, some may be college students or recent graduates, others may be establishing themselves in careers, some may have children of their own...
