Hope you all are recovering from the crazy windstorm. I feel very lucky, as we did not lose power, nor did we lose any more big trees like the last time. We definitely need to pray for Florida and the surrounding states that were affected by the last hurricanes. It's just devastating to see the damage, and I'll take the wind over that any day. Hello April! It seems to me like it came in fast with Easter being the day before. The Ulm Community turned out in full force for the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. We estimate that around 300 kids participated with all their cute outfits and baskets,buckets and bags for a quick retrieval of over 4000 eggs. They brought parents, Grandparents, family and friends. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Starting off our new year with some late news from December. The Ulm Pinochle Club had a great cookie exchange and games at Mary's house. It was beautiful and fun with great hospitality. Nancy and Val both had double pinochles and Nancy won high score for the night. Severin was low for the evening and we all had a festive time. The Ulm Church wanted to thank everyone who donated shoe boxes or supplies to Operation Christmas Child. We ended up with 57 boxes. The Truth Trackers youth group helped put together 30 some of them and they had a blast while doing it. They give up their game time to do this project. We are always sure to put in the essentials of school supplies and hygiene items. They then can go crazy with the other items like toys, water bottles, socks, sunglasses, tools, sewing kits, more toys, etc. They...
The Ulm Pinochle Club met at Erin Faulkners house last Monday where she and Valerie Fowler hosted. We had so much fun as always and even had a couple of double pinochles to announce. Val and Severin each had one and believe me there's a lot of hooping and hollering when it happens. I ended up having high score for the night and Loretta ended up with low score by only 10 points. A grand time was had by all. Once again the Ulm Volunteer Fire Department team out did themselves on the pancake supper. It was a steady stream of hungry patrons from 2-8. At times the line was out the door. Everyone had such a great time visiting and catching up with one another. Sometimes we only see our neighbors once a year at this social event. I hope everyone's summer is going spectacular! We have had some mighty fine weather. The hay crops are outstanding and hopefully the rest of the crops are just as good. It was a great day to be in Ulm Mt! The Easter egg hunt was spectacular with more than 300 participants. There were a ton of hard working 4-Hr's that made it all come together, which in turn made some very happy children. The Easter bunny was posing for pics, parents were videoing and taking pictures for memorable moments. Neighbors were visiting and the fire trucks were all shined up and ready for kids to dream of being firefighters. It was a beautiful day and the wind didn't pick up terribly...
